Alvin & The Chipmunks Movie Day / J & G Fried Chicken / DC Comics Superheros Cafe @ Sunway Putra Mall

Saturday, December 26, 2015 0 Comments A+ a-

I decided to bring my 3 kids to watch Alvin and The Chipmunks together for the very first time today at Sunway Putra Mall since we have 4 free movie tickets received from our redemption of Sunway Pals last month during the anniversary roadshow. This free movie ticket only can used at Sunway Putra Mall and we reached at 11am at the TGV ticketing counter. It was empty and we showed our complimentary tickets. The staff told me that I need to top up RM 7 for that tickets. I was confused and ask him to clarify again. He mentioned that the free tickets I am holding is just a discount ticket for standard movie seats. For weekend I need to top up RM 2 because the usual price is RM 13. The free standard movie is RM 11. After the explanation I still cannot figure out why they give such free movie tickets in which the terms are not stated clearly. So we pay additional RM 8 for the 4 tickets and my girls are looking at the popcorn.

We queue up and the staff mentioned that only LARGE popcorn is available. I ask any regular or small size popcorn. She reply no! They just want to earn more because of the Star Wars movie is a hit now and they only offered combo package which comes with a large popcorn, drinks and the limited edition Star Wars keychain for RM 22.90. We only have two choice either large popcorn + drinks is RM 16.90 or the StarWars combo. Of course the Star Wars combo sounds more worth it. But my kids are just nagging for fun and they will not be able to finish that LARGE POPCORN. So I tell hubby let's go. We are not going to purchase anything. And my girls start to cry and keep talking about the popcorn. I managed to persuade her with something else in my bag (Yeah kids need many many surprised in my baby bag).
Our family first movie together. Cheh cheh first movie in Cinema at the age of 5 years old. Movie ticket is expensive and I do worried will they like this movie and can they behave inside for 60-90 minutes?? Will the music and sound system too loud? Are they going to be scare in the dark? And the most important thing, I do worried if they tell me I wan to poo poo. But as a mummy, i am well prepared.  Although this is my first time, I will learn from experience and will do better in our next visit.
He is extremely excited telling me where is the Chipmunk!
The movie was awesome. For 90 minutes, my kids are behave. They seated properly on the chairs, I keep them occupied with food and snacks. They enjoy the movie very much. Humorous, laughter, dance and lots of music inside. I love it too and the musics played really make you wanna dance together with the cute Chipmunks and Chipettes. The story line was great and adventurous and again Alvin make up lots of mess and troubles. The most funny part is how they get together and find way to Miami to look for Dave ( the animals appearance on the plane and tricks to escape from Suggs).

After the movie, we went to J & G Fried Chicken which i wanted to visit. Mum told me I must try the fried chicken. I am actually here to redeem free voucher.

Our free voucher to redeem fried squid and a cold tea. The fresh fried squid is delicious and crispy. Thanks to Choi Yen for selecting hubby as winner.

We go down to Level 2 to try the food at DC Comics Superheroes Cafe (Besides JuiceWorks). My boy are jumping to joy when he see Batman and Superman. A cafe and also selling Superheros merchandise. The price is quite expensive for the ice blended drinks and the food as well. But since this is our first visit, we wanted to try something different and yes wanted to take pictures of food with the Batman or Superman logo. We ordered the food at the counter and the staff is friendly telling me and explain to me that I can request any drinks and can put which character want. I requested for Batman logo for cappuccino hot drinks and order a waffle for my kids.
Spacious seats with superheros logo printed on the chairs. We can have our complimentary free warm water there (self service)
RM 12 Cappuccino . They give me Superman logo instead.

Metropolis Hero RM 16 - Blueberry & Strawberry waffle with vanilla ice cream and toppings. My kids love this desserts. Fluffy on the inside and yummy toppings.
All comes with nett price.
Pleasant Saturday with my lovely kids

Playing Monopoly Game with my Kids @ Quill City Mall

Saturday, December 26, 2015 0 Comments A+ a-

Thinking where to spend our Christmas holiday? I am sure everywhere is crowded especially shopping mall in MidValley, 1 Utama and Sunway Pyramid although I really wanted to bring my kids to visit this three places to see the Christmas deco which we have yet to visit until now. Why not We go to Quill City Mall to try our luck to play the Monopoly Game? I told hubby about it and he agreed! And the kids? of course they don't know what is Monopoly. They only know Cartoon TV Show and their IPAD.! Sigh.

We reached Quill City Mall at 12.30 noon and there are still many parkings available. Smooth traffic today and we managed to grab two packs of XL Pampers at AEON Jusco for only RM 29.90 each. For a total receipt of RM 50, we are qualified to play the Monopoly game at Ground Floor. Huge Monopoly board game for us to steps on it and it was so real. We register ourselves and I am Player No. 1!. Excited! I have been playing this kind of board game with my siblings, cousins and my grandma when we are young kid and this does brings lots of sweet memories especially the moments we have fun and spend time together with my grandma. I really miss her a lot. We used to play Monopoly, Saidina, Millionaire, card games and other board games. That's how we used to spend our time during weekends and school holiday with laughter and we can spend almost half a day to finish up a game.

I am ready and my three kids are going to follow me together, while hubby took some of the photos here. We are brief on the games rules and on each steps we reach at any destination, we will be guided (either to purchase a land, need to pay anything, or need to open any card, and if lucky we will be given a free voucher on the spot if we step on any merchant!) I do hope to get more food voucher.
My first purchase that costs me RM 200. The staff will help us to roll the dice and they will show us where to stand.

Our first voucher - Yeah Pancake !
Open the chance card for next steps and got fine
Only 3 players. So we can have more chance to get more vouchers. Each session only 15 minutes. So we have to move fast.

To be fair, they will roll the dice quite high.
Oh No! We have to go inside the Jail. And we are lock inside the cage for two times.. We are laughing and I don't even know what's the reason I was lock inside. Just realize our dice is roll twice with the same number and happen the same again on the 3rd time.

Lucky enough we managed to get the same number to get out from the jail twice also.  Hey Mr. Monopoly is there to visit us..

This is the voucher I received. Lucky enough to get the food voucher which I can redeem immediately without purchasing anything and the expiry date is within 3 months. Even though we are trapped in to Jail twice, we managed to get at least some vouchers from the game.
Papa wanted to play too. After we dine in at Tappers Cafe, we got another RM 50 receipt. So we quickly go down to Ground Floor to register again to play the Monopoly game. Just in time for another game and this round they have 5 players. My two girls wanted to follow papa while my son and I sit on the chair waiting the game to start.

Daddy is player no .4 and here is the given money in a zip bag. Total is RM 1,500. He have a different experience where he received both Chance card and Community Chest. Surprised and anxious to know what is written on the card. Yes worried to see if that is bankrupt card. Lucky the first card is just asking to pay hospital fee of RM 100 and in return of another card open saying that he was paid RM 150. My girls have fun following him in each steps and waiting slowly for their turns.

We both did not managed to win the first prize. I love the game and the fun we had together.

We have so much fun playing the board game. So huge and so lively. My kids are happy too. Glad to explore to them about this Monopoly game in such a way. Hardly have such opportunity to play a gigantic size of Monopoly in a shopping mall. Memorable day and fun weekend with my kids. They are more happy to receive many balloon sculpture from the friendly clown and my house are now full of colourful balloons.

This wonderful activity is until tomorrow 27 Dec 2015. Time is 12-4pm & 5pm to 9pm. Just purchase anything from Quill city mall outlet above RM 50 and redeem one entry. Moreover, with the same receipt, you can get a free photography session with immediate print out.

Merry Christmas!!

Kung Fu Room @ Viva Home

Wednesday, December 23, 2015 0 Comments A+ a-

After the Hello Kitty Go Around Malaysia visit, we look for restaurant to dine in since it is already 1.30pm. I check the directory at Ground Floor and spotted Kung Fu Room @ Level 1 which offered Chinese cuisines with specialties in pan mee. Since my girl loves noodle, we take the escalator up to level  1 and get our place seated facing the entrance. The staff are friendly and efficient. They gives us menu and we start to think what to order. Kung Fu Room reminds me of Kung Fu Paradise @ Mid Valley but no longer there.  Here served more variety of food at affordable price. A bowl of noodle starts from RM 10.90 and light snacks are price from RM 6 onwards. We ordered pan mee dumpling, a ham roll, fried pan mee and dragonfruit juice.

We need to write it down on a piece of paper on what we want to order. The staff will come and repeat what we have ordered and moment she left, a young boy gives us two small bowl for the kids. This is what I called EXCELLENT Service!. I haven’t even request for it, and he quickly serve me the small bowl. Good Job! In less than 3 minutes, my dragonfruits juice is ready! Wow unbelievable! After that my ham roll Is served. I think less than 7 minutes, both noodles are readily served on our table! This is really Kung Fu! So fast serving that I could not believe it. How they cook it so fast? Or has it been ready made? Hubby said maybe not much of people there since lunch crowd is over. He tease me that When service is slow you complained so much. Now service is super fast, you also want to complain?? Hahaha..

My kids love this mayonnaise Han Roll
The fried pan mee is just average but it does taste better if you add on with the chili paste
The pan mee dumpling is delicious with thin layer of dumpling and filled up with meats and vegetables fillings. Portion is acceptable and clean environment.

The food is quite decent here. I enjoy the comfortable dining space and thumbs up for the great service here.

(Just my opinion), My girl was asking me where is the surprises mum? Nothing to see here..

Lucky enough, this workshop is free for trial and the kids can sit there quietly to finish up this masterpiece. My girls love it so much and they spend almost 30 minutes here. Mummy can walk freely taking some nice pictures outside first. The only free activity for the kids here to have fun and yes to keep them occupied with something because they are nagging me for the game booth and Hello Kitty lollipop. Oh ya my girl was asking mummy, any playground here?? Speechless.

The staff teaching my girl how to put inside the small diamond according to the alphabet and symbol. This is a very good craft for them to test on their creativity, patience and great bonding time with parents too.

We went down to Ground Floor and get a stamp chop by showing our Hello Kitty entrance ticket and we can enter here to take pictures with Hello Kitty Ferris Wheel. My girls are more happy to receive the balloon sculpture from the clown at the information counter. Lovely heart shape.
We have a wonderful day inside the Hello Kitty Land and my kids have fun taking pictures. Our most memorable section are the Fashion Catcher, Apple Temple, Workshops, Memory Garden and the Sanrio Friends Express.

Positive Side:
1. I am impressed with the staff inside. All are youngsters with smiley faces, helpful, energetic, friendly and approachable. They are well trained with information when I ask them question. Each booth and places I pass by, they will greet me with a big smile and explain how the game booth works. They also suggest which game to play to get a high chance to win prizes. They suggested Mama Kitchen.

2.The game booth offers only Hello Kitty Merchandise (Pillows, soft toys and etc).

3. The walking area are wide and clean.

4. Clear signage on each Hello Kitty section to check out and full information on the price and instruction to follow ( Example on the tote bag section, workshops, and etc)

5. Not crowded as to compare to previous Doraemon Expo. So I can freely taking pictures without hurrying to another place to take turns to take pictures.

6. I can touch the Hello Kitty statues to take pictures.

Negative Side:
1. Please bring more cash. Everything inside is chargeable. I was quite upset when they ask us to pay for the coin at the Japanese wishing wall (Apple Temple). It needs a ticket to exchange with the token and will provide you a mini gift. As for the game booth, additional game you need to purchase yourselves. For those tote bag, post office stamp card and photo session also need additional charges. If you wish to dine in here, do expect a higher price on the food and beverages as well. As for the merchandise, I am sure you know what is the price range for Hello Kitty items.

2. No playground area for the kids. I was expecting probably a single ride for them. Here is mainly photo session and a small mini land (with imagination). But kids are more interested on what they can do inside besides the game booth (which some game are not suitable for toddlers age 6 below). The only activity suites them is the workshop with glitters puzzle.

3. The cinema was a drawback because nothing to see inside besides the big wall Hello Kitty deco.

4. No performances and special appearance of Hello Kitty characters during weekdays.

5. Overall, if you are just taking a tour inside, within an hour you can finish taking up the photos.

If you ask me is it worth it? Honestly, this expo is average and do not put a high expectation. For Hello Kitty fans ( like my girls), they both enjoy it. Myself? Not a real fans of Hello Kitty, but I do enjoy taking pictures inside and probably shop around to check out the limited edition items, but the price for the game booth area is really burning a hole in my pocket. As Hello Kitty Go Around In Malaysia happen maybe just once in KL area, maybe you can check them out instead to drive up 4 hours to Sanrio Hello Kitty Town in Johor.
