Kung Fu Room @ Viva Home

After the Hello Kitty Go Around Malaysia visit, we look for restaurant to dine in since it is already 1.30pm. I check the directory at Ground Floor and spotted Kung Fu Room @ Level 1 which offered Chinese cuisines with specialties in pan mee. Since my girl loves noodle, we take the escalator up to level  1 and get our place seated facing the entrance. The staff are friendly and efficient. They gives us menu and we start to think what to order. Kung Fu Room reminds me of Kung Fu Paradise @ Mid Valley but no longer there.  Here served more variety of food at affordable price. A bowl of noodle starts from RM 10.90 and light snacks are price from RM 6 onwards. We ordered pan mee dumpling, a ham roll, fried pan mee and dragonfruit juice.

We need to write it down on a piece of paper on what we want to order. The staff will come and repeat what we have ordered and moment she left, a young boy gives us two small bowl for the kids. This is what I called EXCELLENT Service!. I haven’t even request for it, and he quickly serve me the small bowl. Good Job! In less than 3 minutes, my dragonfruits juice is ready! Wow unbelievable! After that my ham roll Is served. I think less than 7 minutes, both noodles are readily served on our table! This is really Kung Fu! So fast serving that I could not believe it. How they cook it so fast? Or has it been ready made? Hubby said maybe not much of people there since lunch crowd is over. He tease me that When service is slow you complained so much. Now service is super fast, you also want to complain?? Hahaha..

My kids love this mayonnaise Han Roll
The fried pan mee is just average but it does taste better if you add on with the chili paste
The pan mee dumpling is delicious with thin layer of dumpling and filled up with meats and vegetables fillings. Portion is acceptable and clean environment.

The food is quite decent here. I enjoy the comfortable dining space and thumbs up for the great service here.

Lepaq Lepaq @ Jalan Ceylon Kuala Lumpur

Wednesday, December 16, 2015 2 Comments A+ a-

After looking through the website, We find out there is a new place around our office area at Jalan Ceylon. The café name caught our attention. Lepaq Lepaq is actually a modern twist word from the actual Malay wording of ‘Lepak’ (hang out) loitering or loafing around. The café does not have a signboard. Parking is still available if you are early for lunch, but I doubt there is enough space to park because it is actually on the roadside and you can try your luck to park your car at the lane behind. A very nice two storey building with beautiful greenery landscape for you to enjoy a quiet moments with your friends while enjoying a cup of coffee. We wanted to try a new place so we drive to Lepaq Lepaq which offer Set lunch menu and now they are doing Buy One Free One promotion on all the set lunch.

No drinking water is provided. That answer really gives us a shocked on our faces when we ask about it.  Usually, drinking water is available when we go to any café but here you need to purchase a cotton candy cloud coffee (which claim to be their signature drinks) and you will be provided with a cup of water. Or you can purchase the imported drinking water for RM 9! That is enough to make us upset. How much does it cost to provide a complimentary drinking water to customer?? Sigh.
They sell bakery also. Agree with my friend that the bread does not look appealing

We are seated at the upper level with plenty of seats. In fact an ideal place for birthday gathering because they have a huge seating space and relaxing atmosphere. Wooden tables and chairs with different designs in each corner. We waited excitedly for our food to be served.  When the mushroom soup was served on our table, again our face turns. How come the portion is so small??
Great time together with my colleagues
Set lunch menu that changes every day I guess
Unique
Mushroom Soup RM 13. The portion of the soup is just half of the bowl and The presentation of the food is not impressive for all of us. We paid for RM 13 to get a small bowl of mushroom soup with non crusty bread on top. Disappointing!

Freshly Picked Garden Salad RM 25
One giant bowl of fresh green salad with three types of vegetables and we can choose the option of 3 choices of salad dressing – Caesar, Thousand Island and Balsamic Vinaigrette
Big bowl of salad but only 3 types of vegetables. NOTHING ELSE. VERY VERY UPSET! Salad dressing is so little.

Herb Grilled Chicken Breast RM 25. Accompanied with sautéed potatoes and vegetables along with house mushroom sauce. The chicken meat is tender and moist. But again look at the portion. Just too little for that price charged!

Pesto Grilled Chicken &  Mushroom Spaghetti RM 23. Small portion as well and too much of olive oil. Simple and comfort food.

Pan Seared Dory Fish Served with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables RM 26 My friend complained that the fish is not fresh. For myself I enjoy the smooth mashed potatoes.
Refreshing cold drinks
Cotton-Candy Cloud Coffee RM 13. Some called it Rainy Day Coffee. Almost every table ordered this and also their special rainbow cotton candy desserts. We also eager to try this out since it does look attractive. But the drawback is the coffee is not aromatic and not served hot. There are no fragrance of the coffee and it was not impressive to us when we take a sip of the coffee taste. It is totally tasteless and watery even though the cotton candy already drop inside the coffee.
Cloudy cotton candy which melted very slow and make a mess everywhere. As a result the cup is all sticky at every corner and hard to hold the handle.

Hot Cappuccino RM 10

Beautiful? Creative? Maybe. But not for me. This was their best seller cake but it was not appetizing and the combination is pretty weird.Nasi lemak Cheese Cake for RM15 is far too expensive. The green layer taste like lemongrass with glutinous rice and creamy in the middle while on the bottom part are like the chocolate cookies texture. Few pieces of peanuts inside and anchovies on the top of the cake.Salty, spicy and sweet taste. Seriously, this cake have the unpleasant flavour.
Service is slow and not responsive. Total Damage RM 139 for four pax without satisfaction from the food and the portion. We move to the Weld for a cup of real aromatic Coffee from Starbucks.

Will I visit again to this place? No for me please!

KL Bird Park with my Family

Wednesday, December 09, 2015 0 Comments A+ a-

This was my first visit to bird park KL with my eldest girl. Back then she was just 1 year plus and still sitting on the stroller. We go as in a big family with sister and bro all together. The weather is good and we have enjoy the day so much.

Bird Park is located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens, it is only 10 minutes drive away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. It is the home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds.

Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres of verdant valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries.

One of KL Bird Park's most extraordinary feature is that in Zone 1, 2 and 3, birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. With this free-flight concept, birds are able to breed naturally in this unique environment.
Getting our entrance ticket. Welcoming by the beautiful birds freely walking everywhere
Lovley birds

The main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from any other bird parks is the concept of free-flight.

One of the most prominent evidence that these birds have adapted so well to this environment is that they are already able to breed naturally.
Entertaining bird show. The kids love it when they ask for volunteers

So many colourful parrots. We walk to every section following the map given and also rest at the restaurant and cafe. Ice cream is a must in this humid weather. We bought our own food and enjoy the picnic moments with my family
Koi Fish pond
Happily hanging out at the kids playground after the bird show
Who say mummy cannot have fun? I love to swing on it!!! With my youngest sister
Beautiful peacock

Eagle section where there are schedule for feeding eagle time

Chicken Farm
Waterfall..cooling

You can feed bread to them. But I do saw people feeding the bird with chicken rice. Must be very yummy huh?
The good thing is we can see the bird in a very clear distance and we can enjoy catching them with our kids. But when we are holding on to our bread the bird will come and chase us for it and some snatch it from above our head. They fly everywhere. That will make the kids frightened.

Definitely a place to visit with your kids for them to get in touch closely with the bird and nature.

The Hornbill section is a must visit and I am glad that the bird park is really suitable for the kids for them to explore themselves running towards the bird and learn on different kinds of species. Advisable to bring along your cap / umbrella, mosquito repellent, bread to feed the bird for your kids, extra clothing, a good walking shoe, drinking water, and own food (no restriction on the food and drinks).
