Penang Bird Park - Our Wonderful Family Trip

This is our first trip to Penang and mummy is feeling excited to bring the kiddos to Penang Bird Park! We reached here early at 9.30am and the place looks quiet and all the birds are mainly inside the cage. It have many section to venture so the first stop is to see the parrots.
Penang Bird Park is The first & largest bird park of its kind in Malaysia, established since 1988, the 5-acre park on the mainland portion of Penang State, has a collection of more than 300 species of birds from all over the world, of which more than 150 species are of Malaysian Species. More than 3,000 birds in this park are carefully and scientifically housed in more than 150 cages for the breeding and conservation purpose.

Our family enjoy talking to the Parrot. He is a very smart bird. He heard us and respond to us. Bye Bye! Hello ! Hello!

While the 2 Geodesic Domes and 2 giant sized Walk-in-Aviaries, keep hundreds of tamed birds which offers priceless memory and exciting moment for visitors, after hand-feeding them, exotic birds ranging from tiny Sunbirds to huge, gigantic 8-foot tall Ostriches frolic in an environment that imitates their natural habitat. Penang Bird Park is particularly proud of its hornbills, sunbirds, and pheasants collection. Penang Bird Park is the bird-park loved by the expert ornithologists as well as for the people of all ages who love birds.

Built in a garden concept, the park boasts of its beautiful landscaping with the impressive collections of hibiscus, orchids,  bamboo, ornamental plant and palm trees. Cascading waterfalls and natural ponds flourish with colourful fishes, lotus and water lilies, creating a home for the free-roaming pelicans, flamingos, swans, egrets, storks, herons and colourful ducks. Observe from the Chinese-style wooden bridges that traverse the water or relax in the little Malay huts that dot the park to enjoy the beauty of nature at play. A cosy air-conditioned restaurant in the park serves delicious local and western food.

Penang Bird Park is also a home to several species of deers including the smallest deer in the world - Mouse-Deers. Giant Arapaima fish, pythons, giant estuarine crocodile, tortoises and other species of wildlife are also exhibited in this park.

We came to another section whereby you need to open a small door to enter this area. We can purchase the FISH food for only RM 1. My kids enjoying throwing it all over. Not only the fish are excited waiting for the food, the birds as well!

In this section, the birds are freely walking around and we get to capture the pictures with them more closely. Look Mummy! White Peacock!

Dark Mansion 3D Glow in the Dark Museum @Penang

DARK MANSION is the FIRST Glow-In-The-Dark Museum in Malaysia. The Dark Mansion appears to be one of the trendiest modern art museums as it integrates technology with arts, which then makes it a new MUST-VISIT spot in Penang. We are curious what's inside this museum and my kids are jumping to joy when they know we are heading to another new museum.

We begin with the world of toys from the 80s and 90s, such as the famous Super Mario Bros and the addictive Street Fighter arcade game. Just be creative and have fun.

Ready! Shoot!

We love this picture outcome. Standing tall on the cubes
Street fighters!

Funny moments

You want any roti canai or Char Koay Teow?

This really need a perfect angle to have this awesome photo shoot

Another main attraction in Dark Mansion is a mysterious glowing tropical forest – “Tropical Pandora: The Forbidden Land”. In Tropical Pandora, you will explore and witness the metamorphosis of plants and paintings into special living creatures during the transitions of daylight and black light. Kids love this section. Glow in the dark and beautiful floral inside. The staff will play games with them asking them to spot animals hidding inside the forbidden land such as frogs, rabbits, spider, butterfly and lots more.

Little Mermaid?

The biggest attraction in Dark Mansion is the artwork of Edgar Mueller (World’s Top Street Painter from Germany), called the “Fire & Water: Tribute to Darwin”. This artwork is an attempt to break the world record as the World’s First and Largest Anamorphic Glow-In-The-Dark Pavement Painting with Day-to-Night Transition. Make sure that you do not miss the opportunity to capture a photo with this incredible masterpiece.

The staff will guide you how to pose.

Stars & Moonlight - Which is your favourite stars?

Stepping into an enchanting and endless space of the “Infinity Room: The Origins of Eywa”. The installation of mirrored-walls in the room creates a fascinating experience of infinite space, populated by hanging and glowing objects (Eywa), which make the space seems like a galaxy or a nebula.

Dark Mansion presents a new dimension of 3D art by incorporating the amazing glow-in-the-dark effect into the 3D paintings and artworks. The artists applied special painting materials along with special light settings to produce brilliant glowing effect and astonishing “day-to-night” transition. Visitors could enjoy and interact with the 3D painting and artworks in two different lighting effects - daylight and black light. Therefore, the staff will advise you to wait for the right lights to take the picture for more great effects.

We enjoy the tour and a worth place to pay a visit when you come to Penang. Memorable memories and fun moments with my family.

3D Trick Art Musuem @ Penang

3D Trick Art Musuem is all about trick art illusions. 3D Trick Art refers to a technique that transforms 2-dimensional painting into 3-dimensional images. With the 2D paintings on the walls, floors and ceiling appears to pop up on the surface and come to life. The museum will be housing 40 pieces of artworks including optical illusion paintings and sculptures. These paintings are so unique and all arts are originated locally.

Here is All about Penang Life and Modern Classic. This theme will definitely portray the daily life of Penangites and bring the stories that are present in the heritage to a broader group of visitors.

We are here to experience the 3D Trick Art Museum and let's explore each of them and how they are so different from other museum.

The map as a guideline

Guidance and assistance will be provided by instructions beside the artworks or personnel in the museum to ensure visitors take the best possible photos. The friendly staff will also help us to take pictures with our own camera.
Look Mummy, I found the mango!
This section reminds me much of my grandma Kampung lifestyle
We caught the Pokemon Go

Let's go for a ride on the Trishaw
We love this pictures! Sitting inside the sampan!

The Clan Jetties are the homes of the descendants of harbour labourers and fishermen. Today these jetties are preserved as a heritage site of George Town. At the Trick Art Museum, you can have a photo taken within a real sampan, as though you are in the jetty area itself, with all the houses on stilts behind you.

How about riding with the Bullocks and the carts

Do you know that Penang once had the smallest trolleybus of its kind in the world? They were ordered in 1934 for use on the Hill Railway Road. These trolleybuses took passengers from its terminal on the Air Itam Main Road to the Penang Hill Railway Lower Station.
