Online deals is tricky

It's been a while i have not update my blog (enjoying my 90 days maternity now) and would like share some of my own experience redeem these online deals lately.

1) I need to spend more time to read through all the long list of the terms and condition stated in the deals website and added quite few restriction.Really have to read carefully

2) Once bought the vouchers, advisable to redeem it asap not later than 1 month.Some restaurant close down, for some saying the main course is only left 3 out of 6 choices, fully booked for those facial or massage service and etc.

3) Only Groupon website i can see have selection of the customer service feedback for refund issue and more effective than any other website.

4) Recently, bought the item from Living Social, called to ask if the item is ready to collect at their office in Mid valley,and they said confirm YES!. The next day,my hubby went to their office was told the item is not there!wasting time and such a bad service that we experience here.So, they promise they will send by delivery FOC, but the item yet to reach my house.I doubt to purchase other item in the future and if really i found a good deal i wish to purchase,i will need call twice perhaps,getting their name and in written email as proof.

5) Another issue that is that we bought the hard disk from I Love Discount website.Offering a good price of RM 199 Bought for so long but, no email send to us to inform the status and we need to email to this website to ask for the status.So upset and disappointed that they actually refunded the money to us. Reason behind is the merchant cannot afford to provide such low price of the hard disk and said they have no such item and will not continue to deliver to us.

If they can't do such deal, please don't sell it on the online deals and giving us hope that we can buy such item with such attractive price. So troublesome, we need to email them, calling the merchant (no one answering) and waiting for the item to be delivered and now waiting for the money to be refunded to our account!

6) Many repeat deals and not interesting at all. Some website like WeBuy, Dealmates (especially), I Love Discount, Mydeal, Myimart, and others offering not much deals and getting bored of such website and seems not reliable. Seems like there is nothing much interesting deal in there. I just still getting active browse through Groupon and Living Social website only recently.

7) When making payment,some of the issue i encounter is the system cannot go through smoothly and frustration

8) The drawback for some deals is they giving short period to redeem the voucher. For example, the deal in Living Social for food deals, only can redeem within one months time, and some of the massage deals within 2-3 months only. Just imagine they sold more than 200 voucher and even more, how we can redeem it within the time frame and usually when called for reservation everything is FULLY BOOKED (that's what i hate to hear it) even i called up early and EVEN when i have booked, and on that day i went to redeem it, they can't even find my name. This is the worst scenario and they won't let you in. Another tricky way is the merchant actually wanted the customers to redeem it during weekdays. So you might just need to apply leave to redeem your vouchers...

9) I would like to share to you all that buying cash voucher is more reliable than those 3 main course or 5 main course. At least i was greeted as walk in customers, and shown the actual menu and the portion of the food is same as the usual walk in customers.( so far i observe they did not actually reduce the portion). And all the food is prepared fresh from the kitchen according to the menu we chosen.

Eastern Crabs Restaurant @ Plaza Ampang City

Eastern Crab is located at Plaza Ampang City @ Ampang (KL). Very old building and i can hardly find any other restaurant here. Easily spotted at the Ground Floor and along the road. Eastern Crab is a Halal Restaurant and here offers mouth watering seafood with Asian fusion cuisines. The restaurant is famous of the crab and the master chef is from Hong Kong and using the best halal ingredients to prepare the scrumptious seafood.I am truly amazed of the chef here with his creativity to think of so many special dish

Our first menu - Shark’s Fin Soup.Thick hearty broth with all the fresh crab meat,crab roe, and shark fins. Can see the silver shark fin clearly and good to have this with a dash of vinegar and green chillies. Very aromatic braised soup to warm up my stomach.

This big bowl of shark fins can cater for 10 people serving, the shark fin is certainly delicious with clear crab roe, i can even find a large pieces of it with the shark fin and crab meat!

Next, we have the famous Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Salt & Pepper. The chicken wing is very crispy and garnished with deep fried garlic with hot chillies .I find it is a little bit dry for my taste bud. The spices it too much and i prefer the gravy type.This is one of their bestsellers and claim to be the most recommended dish to try on. Apparently, i think this dish is too spicy for me and i need to quench my thirst with a whole glass of water.

Juicy and tender chicken meat

Steamed Chinese Pomfret is like the typical serving in all Chinese cuisines. This fish is  steamed  just right and not overly cooked , so that this medium size of the fish is still fresh and the flesh inside is smooth enough. Great to have this dish with a bowl of rice added on with the soy sauce.

Extraordinary size of the Sri Lanka Crab shown to us before the serving of the food.

The signature Hong Kong Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab. In this restaurant they used Sri Lanka Mud Crab that comes in the XXL size.These Gigantic crab’s is covered with almost one whole pound of garlic with lots of spices and hot chilies for that spicy kick. The crab was superb delicious, and i am so addictive for this dish! The flesh is easily peel off and the claw is really big enough!

Singapore Spicy Chili Crab is succulent and in Singapore, this dish is very well known. If there is steamed man tau (bun) then it will be great. The thick gravy i love the most to poured onto my hot steaming rice. Extremely appetizing with huge ,fresh and meaty crab! Delicious!

Fried Siakap with Asam Paste. I love the crispy fresh siakap with the sweet and sour asam taste.The ingredients of the onions, lady fingers and chilies enhanced the taste of this dish. Thumbs up!

Salted Egg Sea Prawn .The presentation of the food looks like the cheese prawn, but this is actually the creamy salted egg and taste so good!!. Those are really giant size of the prawns as if i am having the lobster. Every bite is so juicy and i still recall the taste now and then. Crunchy on the outside and inside is very sweet taste of the fresh prawn. Enjoy sucking on the salted egg taste on every part of the prawn. Irresistible!

No.1 Seafood Hot Pot - The hot serving of the seafood claypot uses big crab meat inside which is peel off, together with the prawn, big sweet scallop and also some vegetables inside.The delectable dish is just nice with the taste not too salty and not spicy. Highly recommend to try this dish and good to be shared with a large group of people. You will be amazed and surprised that so many fresh seafood inside the whole hot pot and started to dig for more!

Lots of fresh squid, prawns and the flesh of the whole pieces of the crab is also inside and i also manage to taste the scallop. As you can see in the picture above, the claw is obviously BIG enough and so tempting. Of course the gravy not to mention is tasty enough with so many seafood inside!

Sauteed Chicken with Black Bean and Pepper- The chicken is drizzled with the onions, garlic, red and green pepper, dry chilies. I love this salty food sometime when it come to black beans, this is my favourite and its good to pair up with a bowl of rice too. The chicken meat is all stir fried with the taste of the savory black bean.Chicken breast meat is juicy too.

Mapo Bean Curd with Chicken Meat and Chilli Sauce - This looks interesting with lot of red chilies and i will be thinking this is going to be really spicy! When i first tasted it,  i did not felt any spicy taste at all, but when it goes slowly into your throat you can really felt the spiciness!The beanburd is stir-fried in the thick savoury mapo sauce, and together with the minced chicken meat with hot chilies..Surely you need to add more rice!

Fried Broccoli with Crab Meat. Very generous and  large portion of the crab meat which is cooked with egg white starch to make the sauce thicker just like having those 'kong fu yin yong'  in those hawker stall. The combination is pretty good with fresh broccoli, crab meat, white egg and this is healthy choices to balance up our dinner tonight. Suitable for family and kids too.

Ice Lemon Tea - Specialties here, i can really taste the thick layer of the ice lemon tea and this drink is really nice with a original taste of lemon with minimal sugar added. Very different from the one i have tasted before.

Fresh Mango Cream with Pamelo.Finally, we have our desserts with freshly sliced mango, pamelo and sago.  It’s really  rich of the mango taste and the mango cream, together with the taste of the pamelo is really blends well.I love the cold serving of the sweet mango and i am still thinking of the taste now. Refreshing desserts!

Grandmama's @ Pavilion, KL

Grandmama's is another new concept serving local cuisines at a very reasonable price inside Pavilion and it is actually located at level 6, nearby Din Tai Fung. The restaurant is fill up with bright lights and nice seats available and suitable for family to dine in.The staff is very friendly and greets with warm welcome and smiles. i try this nasi lemak istimewa that is worth RM 22. The combination of tri-coloured rice, big and crispy drumstick and also a beef rendang. The manager is very  kind to change the beef to chicken rendang for me as i can't take any beef. The rice is very fragrant served on top of the banana leafs and not to forget the big prawns and the sambal blends so well. The chicken rendang is so delicious and spicy enough  This dish is really worth the value and the quality of the food here is really good!

The Chow Kuey Teow is not oily, and the portion just nice for one person serving. Flavourful with lots of seafood given in generous portion and the prawns is obviously big enough. Spice up this dish with some hot chili padi even taste better.

Cater for large group seats arrangement. Comfortable place to dine in

During lunch time, all seats are fully occupied and might need to queue up after 1pm. The seats extends to outside corridor as well.

The top 10 high selling local Asian food can be found here.There are Sang Har Mee, Fish Head Meehon, Nasi Lemak, Hainan Chicken Rice, Chow Kuey Teow and also the Curry Laksa, Temping and mouth watering menu and the price is only from RM 15 onwards. Reasonable price with the right portion of the food and in the nice modern dining atmosphere.

I love this place and i am coming back surely to try on the other menu.

Bought this voucher online from Mydeal Website which offered the Angry Bird Ice Cream Cake with FREE Foam Box for RM49 at Kings’s Confectionery (13 outlets) Halal.Usual price is about RM 80. The Angry BIrd cake inside have the Vanilla sponge layered with Chocolate or Vanilla ice cream; Coated with chocolate ganache; Decorated with angry birds sugar sheet with the Dimension: 23cm x 7.9cm.   It was indeed a great deal which they also happen to repeat this deal many times in the website. I quickly grab this deal before it have been sold old for my girl birthday party. 50% discount from the original price is really worth the value. I need to make booking to inform the date and time collection of the cake and i choosen the chocolate ice cream. The cake is very soft and the ice cream is rich of the chocolate taste and inside the foam box can stand up to 2 hours. My girl just love the angry bird design so much and keep on staring at it.

Reminder to those who plan to purchase this deal. Do send email to them and inform earlier and make a call to the outlet to check if the cake order is there one day before. I have a very bad experience whereby they actually forgot my order (which i order in a weeks time in advance) and did not place the booking of the cake so when i called up to collect my cake on that day itself, the outlet staff tell me no such cake order send to them.
