Bee Won Korean @ KL Festival Mall Kuala Lumpur

Sunday, August 31, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Bee Won Korean Restaurant is located at Level 1 @ KL Festival Mall, just opposite to Sakae Sushi. Almost everyday this place is full house and during weekends there is for sure a long queue. Cozy place to dine in with traditional Korean cuisines. Greeted with welcome by the owner who is from Korea as well and I do agree with my dad that their Kimchi is quite good. Decent price with appropriate amount of the food provided in the bento set which also includes the tax. For only RM 20 I can easily get my chicken bento set. Free drinking water available for dine in.

Mackerel Fish set. Good to squeeze some lime juice on top of the fish to taste better.Added on with the kimchi and other condiments such as anchovies , apple and potatoes salad and fried vege. Obviously the side dish is not attractive at all and also the portion for each plate is not equal and indeed it was actually very little that I have to request few times for the anchovies.

Crispy spring onion pancake which are worth trying.

Will i visit again? Yes perhaps trying out the grilled item next time. But I just saw the lady staff who help the customers next table to grill the chicken meat and turning around the meat to the other side and the chicken meat is burnt!! I ask my hubby to look at it..is this the right way to grill the food to this extend? Safe to eat? hmm..let's find out.

Service? I observed them,  they seems to be short handed, but to my surprised they are actually chatting at the back counter and not responding to customer request. The staff is also showing the unfriendly faces and will come to your request slowly.

Reminisce Cafe @ Mid Valley Megamall

Sunday, August 31, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

I was looking at Mid Valley Directory page and I recall this place called Reminisce Cafe which is located at Ground Floor, at the walkway outside where you can see the Maybank and Police Station, Reminisce cafe is just at the same row. I choose to dine in here for second time to try out their menu. I visited this place last three years and I realize they have change the layout and some added features in their unique cafe. Nostalgic moments ever, and I miss the decorations that is really eye catching and i will staring at those vintage collections for a couple of minutes and showing my girl and telling them this is Mummy childhood accompanies.

Reminisce cafe have extended and improve their menu and more choices of Local and Western food available. Local traditional food such as nasi lemak is a must try. Their chicken chop with different kind of gravy and sauce also looks appealing.

We ordered this Butter pork belly served with steamed rice for RM 14.90.

Fragrant and flavouful. The sauce was intensely creamy and rich. I want to give them the compliment on the sambal. It was really great! I love the sambal so much! Palatable dish with reasonable price.

Pan Mee Soup - The highlight for this particular dish goes to the delicious sweet broth and the combination of super spicy chili. Simple and traditional way of pan mee soup with minced pork meat, black fungus, spinach, fu chok, anchovies and pork ball. The portion of the smooth pan mee is quite alot for only RM 9.90.

Hot sun dried longan and luo han fruit drink RM 4.90. Best to have it during the hot weather
Blowing the biggest and round balloon game. When i see this, I quickly bought 3 tubes with 3 straws and begin to blow it to show my naughty kids. They are looking at me wondering what is this?? And they patiently waiting for me to blow the balloon. As far as i remember, during my childhood times, I used to buy this with my sister and cousins and we will make it into a teddy bear, and trying to compete who will be getting the biggest size of the balloon.

But firstly,we do a little bit of inspection to ensure each tube is soft. The sticky glue coming out from the tube will then attached to the corner end of the straw and we will start to blow it slowly and ensure there is no hole in between. If there is a small hole, we will quickly covered it up and continue to blow it. This is much more fun than the usual rubber balloon that we are using nowadays. Towards the end, the balloon will shrink and we make it into the smallest size and pinch on each others forehead..haha Gotcha!

My girl is still curious and was thinking what is mummy doing..Why the "Balloon" sizes is different and began to shrink?? Oh ya and why they become so sticky when it shrink??

Glance through the whole cafe surrounds with my childhood toys, musical instrument, my hobbies, collections and also the card game such as old maid, happy family and etc. There are comic books, stickers, telephone, typewriter, soft drinks bottle , the sticks game, guli and lots more!!..
Now my girl is throwing me a hard question.. "What is this??" Showing and pointing at the pair of old roller skate shoes? Hmm.. ok, now go and ask daddy instead.

The place is refurnished with more comfy place to dine in

The junk food that I always looking forward for after school and also every week will buy this . They also have Tora and Ding Dang selling at RM 3 each.

It is really a mix emotions when I leave this place. I MISS my childhood so badly and yes Reminisce Cafe aims to bring back the memories of the past. Nice place to dine in with family and friends. Service is good too.

Table 23 @ Jalan Mesui Kuala Lumpur

Sunday, August 31, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Table 23 is located at Jalan Mesui, live by the motto "good food, good service, good company". Table 23 is serving lunch or dinner with Asian and Western food and they have the lunch set that includes drinks. The set lunch price is RM 14.90 for local menu choices such as nasi lemak, curry laksa, fried rice, chow kuey teow, sweet and sour chicken and etc. Choices of chilled drinks available but all are not fresh juices. I choose the Kung Pou set with Calamansi drinks while hubby opt for Sweet and sour chicken set with mango juice.

The restaurant is covered by raw bricks and unpolished wooden tables. The interior is nice with some  hanging light bulbs and the place is comfortable to dine in.

The menu set that was actually "blur"..hardly read through the details of each set

Western food range from Spaghetti, baked pie, chicken chop, lasagna and etc for
RM 18.90 each set

Chicken chop - Battered chicken fillet with sauces and fries..Recommended for this meal..The portion is quite acceptable for the price we paid. The chicken chop is crispy with tender and juicy meat. The gravy taste good and appetizing

Kung Pou Chicken - Deep fried chicken with onions, capsicum and dried chili.  The chicken meat is succulent with  spicy, sweet, and nutty flavor. Good to have it with the steamed rice.

Sweet and sour chicken set - Comes with the steamed rice and topped with fried egg. My hubby complained on the portion of the food. He compared with Tappers Cafe which are price at RM 13 and he can get a bigger portion and taste even better.  I take a bit of the chicken, it was marinated with spices and combination with the sweet and sour sauce.

After all, the price is consider reasonable and nothing special about the food. Advise to order rice because what I have heard my colleague who try this place before, the noodle range is quite little and not worth it.

They have last polka desserts too

Pavlova (RM18)
Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert with a crisp crust and soft, light inside.
Served with nuts, strawberries, fresh cream and topped with mango puree. Not too sweet. But just that too much of cream.

Warmth and comfy place to chill out for quick lunch or hang out for drink after work
