The sacred month of Ramadhan is a time for reflection and celebration. It is also a time to be spent with friends and family. To usher in the holy month of Ramadan this year, the chefs of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur has skilfully put together a sumptuous buffet spread with more than 200 authentic local cuisines, promising an exceptional dining experience for all. We are pretty excited as this is our first Ramadhan preview night in year 2017. It might sounds early, but the food display makes me feel the Raya celebration is just around the corner!

True to the bazaar theme this year, the casual all-day dining outlet, The Big Apple Restaurant at level 14 will be transformed into a bazaar. The outlet will feature the classic Ramadhan bazaar stalls reminiscent of those found in popular outdoor bazaars around Malaysia during the festive period.

“Guests will be able to experience first-hand what the contemporary Malaysia food bazaar is like in Malaysia during Ramadhan.  We strive to emulate the lively atmosphere of a bazaar and give our guests an authentic and memorable dining experience. With over 200 dishes, guests will be able to indulge just like they do at the outdoor bazaar but this time, they can enjoy their food in a more comfortable setting,” said Mondi Mecja, Area General Manager of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Aside from the lively and inviting bazaar atmosphere, Berjaya Times Square Hotel has also prepared a special Kedah Claypot Fish Head Curry, lovingly prepared by the hotel’s Sous Chef, Chef Yusoff using his grandmother’s family recipe.  Utilizing only the freshest ingredients and aromatic spices, the Claypot Fish Head Curry is guaranteed to be the highlight of the entire buffet dinner.

Individual stalls will be spaced around the restaurant featuring special signature dishes. Guests can expect Lempeng Kelapa, Lamb Briyani, Ikan Keli/ Cencaru Bakar, Pucuk Manis Ubi Keledek, Otak- Otak Muar, Murtabak Istimewa, Ayam Goreng Uncle Bakri amongst many other must-try traditional Malay dishes. Those looking for lighter and healthier options can toss up their own Ulam-Ulam Tempatan or pick from a variety of ready-made salads on offer.

Besides the bazaar stall, we also explore other food inside the restaurant. There are cold seafoods, salad counter, pasta section, appetizer, soups, noodles, rice, and finally desserts section.

Seafood lovers must not missed this Stir Fried Tiger Prawns with salted egg yolks and oats, Stir fried crab with basil leaves, Salmon roll filled with seafood mousse on cream spinach & Fried Mussel with chili and hot bean sauce. 
Besides the delectable buffet spread at The Big Apple Restaurant, this Ramadhan, guests would also be able to enjoy the Nasi Briyani Gam Batu Pahat made with traditional herbs and spices. It is specially prepared by Chef Yusoff and will be available for takeaway at the stalls located at the lobby of the hotel. It comes in two delectable choices; chicken or lamb.

The Bazaar Ramadhan buffet starts on the 29th May 2017 till 22nd June 2017, 6.30pm to 10.30pm. It is priced at RM128.00 nett for adults, and RM58.00 nett for children in the 1ST & 4th week and RM138.00 nett per adult, RM 68.00 nett per child for the 2nd and 3rd  week. Early bird vouchers are also available for purchase at RM 100.00 nett for adults and RM 50.00 nett for children.

Yeah..the next destination we are going to stay at The Wembley Penang, just 5 minutes drive from Cititel Penang. This hotel is just opened for 2 years and pretty new.

During night time, we try the ala carte menu. We ordered Wan Tan Noodle (both soup and dry version). My kids finished up all the noodle. Yummy..Springy and bouncy noodle served with charitable amount of chicken meat and shrimp dumpling.

On the next day, we have our morning breakfast with many local food offerings - such as my favourite nasi lemak, noodle, local kuih muih, desserts, cereals, baked beans, lamb, chicken, popiah roll, Japanese section with cold soba noodles, bread and pastries. Spoilt for choice with this exquisite spread of local and international delights all day long.
Relaxing cafe to have our wonderful breakfast. The have egg station whereby we can order our favourite eggs - you want it to be sunny side up, scrambled eggs, half boiled eggs, poached eggs, hard boiled eggs or omelette. Just named it!
