Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2025 at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur

As part of Gatherings by Sheraton, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur hosted its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2025, and the whole evening felt like stepping into a pocket of December joy before the month even properly begins. The event opened with hosts Alesya and Maria, who immediately shifted the atmosphere into something cosy and personable. They weren’t stiff or overly scripted; they carried the evening with an easy warmth that made the crowd feel welcomed rather than managed.


The lobby slowly filled with familiar Christmas melodies as the Every Nation Church Choir began their performance. Their harmonies floated gently through the space, and even from afar you could sense that soft hush that happens when a room collectively recognises a song it loves. Silent Night drew the most smiles, that nostalgic kind of smile people make without realising it.


When the music faded, Alesya and Maria invited General Manager Mr. Paul to share a few words. His speech was simple, heartfelt, and unhurried — the kind that lands gently. He spoke about the meaning of the season and the joy of gathering, and it aligned beautifully with the spirit of Gatherings by Sheraton. There was no rush, no grandiose phrasing, just sincerity.

And then came the moment that always feels a little magical no matter how many times you witness it. The countdown began — loud on one end of the lobby, quiet giggles on the other — and when the tree lit up, the room responded with that soft wave of delight people try (and fail) to hide. The glow settled beautifully over the crowd, warm and golden, the kind of light that makes everything look softer.

But the unexpected star of the evening? The gingerbread fireplace.

Guests discovered it slowly, some by scent before sight. It stood proudly near the tree, looking like something straight out of a storybook Christmas scene. Designed by Executive Chef Fadzil Arshad and brought to life by a team of pastry chefs led by Pastry Chef Rozaini, the fireplace was entirely edible — which made people lean in closer than they probably should. Ginger, honey, and warm spices drifted into the air, drawing everyone to it like a magnet.

The charm wasn’t just in its appearance. It was in its imperfections, the delicate piping, the sturdy structure, the tiny details tucked into corners. Knowing it took two full weeks to create made the whole piece feel even more special. It became the unofficial gathering point of the night — a place where kids posed for photos, couples whispered excitedly, and everyone, without fail, said some version of, “Wait… it’s real?”


As the evening went on, the lobby settled into a pleasant hum. People lingered longer than expected, taking in the decorations, enjoying the music, soaking in the glow of the tree. The whole atmosphere felt unforced — just warm, communal, and gently celebratory.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2025 didn’t try to be a spectacle. It didn’t need to. It simply embodied what Gatherings by Sheraton is meant to inspire: connection, warmth, and the quiet joy of being among people during the most heartwarming season of the year.
