Holly Jolly Christmas Celebration at Sunway Putra Mall

 The year-end is the beginning of the most awaited season, Christmas and Sunway Putra Mall recently kicked start their Holly Jolly Christmas celebration with a unique twist in the era. From now till 27 December 2016, the mall created the magic of an old fashioned Christmas where their main concourse was decked with 19th century’s red brick houses, Victorian inspired decorations and even a horse carriage to heighten up the feel of the Victorian era.

It was a memorable evening where the Media and guests were greeted by the ever so lovely Elaine Daly at the event. From the main entrance, guests were welcome with sparkles of Christmas lights and standing tall at the main concourse was a vintage clock tower together with a classic water fountain that look simply exquisite to complement the decorations.

Guest of the evening were addressed by Mr HC Chan, the CEO of Sunway Malls and Theme Parks. Apart from fostering a greater sense of appreciation towards cultural diversity, it also strengthens the bonds among Malaysians. At Sunway, we make a point to celebrate all national celebrations together and celebrating togetherness.

The celebration continued as Mr HC Chan, Sunway Malls COO Mr Kevin Tan, Sunway Putra Mall GM Ms Phang Sau Lian together with Elaine Daly rang the jingle bells and guests were entertained with a Victorian dance performance and witnessing the launching ceremony of Holly Jolly Christmas. To end the day, Media and guests were surprised with the presence of Santa Clause as he appeared from one of the vintage shops with a red gift sack. Santa, together with his helpers distributed the gifts to 45 children from Yayasan Chow Kit and SHELTER, home for children. Guests were later entertained with a heartfelt performance by a choir group from Sekolah Sri Bestari to symbolize the launch of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign, ‘Give the Gift of Reading’.

In the spirit of giving and sharing, Sunway Putra Mall had initiated a CSR initiative to introduce and encourage reading literacy for the underprivileged. The public can do their part to ‘Give the Gift Of Reading’ and help disadvantaged children to discover the enjoyment and benefits books can bring. Shoppers could either donate books or purchase pre-loved books which ranges from RM5 to RM15 to support the campaign.

From 25 November to 7 December, a pair of extraordinary Cirque Panda show tickets at Sunway Lagoon is available for redemption when shoppers spend RM600 (RM500 for HSBC Credit Cardholders) in 3 receipts. From 25 November to 27 December 2016, shoppers can redeem an exclusive notebook with quill pen when they spend RM400 (RM300 for HSBC Credit Cardholders) in 2 receipts and a pair of The Parenthood Playland tickets when they spend RM1, 000 (RM900 for HSBC Credit Cardholders) in 3 receipts.

Shoppers are also welcome to donate to The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle to support and serve the poor during the festive season. Volunteers will continue to ring bells and accept the generosity from the public to donate from 25 November till 27 December 2016.Shop for your Christmas essentials at the festive bazaar and exclusive promotional offerings available at Main Concourse and throughout the mall.

Drop by to be entertained by the enigmatic and soulful Victorian Carolers every weekend and during Public Holidays to bring back the memories of Christmas long ago and meet good ol’ jolly Santa Clause for a story telling session and share your Christmas wish. There are also Kids Arts and Crafts workshops and even Victorian lady walkabout to spread the festive cheer.
