We are here at the Grand Launching of Durian King @ Bukit Bintang outlet. They offered quality durians range from D24, Musang King, Red Prawn and also seasonal Black Thorn. The durian season is back and everyone is craving for that addictive flavour of the Musang King especially. I am pretty excited to try out the Black Thorn as it is unique and limited time you can try it on.

Durian King is conveniently located behind Berjaya Time Square (just walking distance) at the open car park lot at Jalan Imbi.

We have a durian cendol first while waiting for the signature Black Thorn Durian

Black Thorn Durian that are originally from Penang. Black Thorn is slightly expensive and not always available. It is very depending on the season and availability.

Black Thorn is also known as Ocee (black) in Chinese and Duri Hitam (in Malay) when i search the definition in google website. I never try Black Thorn before so I am excited to have my first bite. The “Black Thorn” has a complex flavour with distinct taste. Black Thorn are extremely creamy, sweet and more thicker texture with orange-tinted flesh. It can be found in grey green and round shape.

Thumbs up!
My usual favourite - Musang King. Musang King Durian is almost loved by all and is quite common to be found during durian season.

Musang King is best known as Mao Shan Wong which we are very familiar with. Usually during Durian season, people love hunting for Musang King. The taste are rich and aromatic! I love the small seed with thick golden yellow flesh that satisfy my cravings for durians.

To identify if the durian is Musang King, just look at the shapes which never been in round shape. It could be in oval or egg shape. The thorns are large and bigger if you observe it closely.

Perfect combination of both Musang King and Black Thorn for our tasting today. Yummy!
You can only find it here - The chilled durian at the stall. Interesting right?? I am curious how it taste like.
