All Aboard! 70 Thomas & Friends MINIS Engines Come to Life Thomas Town, Puteri Harbour presents the first “Mini and Mighty” Tour in South East Asia at 1 Utama Shopping Centre

Thomas Town, Puteri Harbour in collaboration with Mattel Southeast Asia, kicks off the first ever ‘Mini and Mighty’ Malaysia Tour at 1 Utama Shopping Centre with the reveal of seventy one-metre-tall Thomas & Friends MINIS engines.

The Thomas Mini & Mighty exhibition will allow visitors to stand next to 70 Thomas & Friends engines replicated from the popular Thomas & Friends television series, and includes the core cast of familiar engines such as Thomas, Percy James, and Gordon, as well as engines decorated in new themes including Dino, Heroes, Spooky, Racers, Neon, Robo, Chillin’ and Metallic. The collection will be on display at its first tour location at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 6 - 24 April 2016.

Between 6 – 10 April 2016, mall visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Thomas at the ‘Mini and Mighty’ launch party at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, LG Oval Concourse. Set against the backdrop of the fictional Island of Sodor, and amidst the display of the 70 MINIS engines, the event will feature family friendly activities such as Thomas Train Ride, Storytelling Adventures, Thomas Maze Challenges, and Meet-and-Greet sessions with Thomas & Friends characters Rusty & Dusty and Sir Topham Hatt.

From the 11 - 24 April 2016, the 70 MINIS engines exhibition will continue at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, High Street.

“The story of Thomas & Friends has been continuously charming generations of boys and girls ever since it was introduced in the year 1946. We are very excited to be able to bring this amazing tour to Malaysia, not only as a gesture of acknowledgement and appreciation for existing Thomas enthusiasts, but also to open this range of lovable characters and the fun engagement of Thomas & Friends stories to a new public. As with our Thomas Town attraction in Puteri Harbour, we want everyone to be able to fully experience the world of Thomas and his friends,” says Fahruddin Najumudeen, General Manager of Thomas Town Puteri Harbour.

“For over 70 years, Thomas & Friends have been well loved by kids for their adventures and valuable life lessons. We hope that the exhibition will give them a memorable experience coming up-close and personal with their favourite blue engine and its band of friends in such an amazing setting,” says Petrina Kho, Country Manager of Mattel Southeast Asia.

“We are thrilled to be the first destination to host the exhibition for Thomas Town’s “Mini and Mighty” Tour in Southeast Asia. Our shoppers, families and friends of Thomas will have a great time discovering the different attractions of the Island of Sodor, an army of their favourite engines, and a series of fun and engaging activities,” adds Patrick So, General Manager of 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

The ‘Mini and Mighty’ Malaysia Tour 2016 marks the first and largest Thomas MINIS engine display showcase in South East Asia, and will be making stops at several landmarks as it makes its journey down south to its final stop at the Thomas & Friends family themed attraction – Thomas Town, Puteri Harbour in December 2016.

Thomas Town, Puteri Harbour (formerly known as The Little Big Club) is a family-centric indoor themed attraction, offering fun-filled rides and engaging activities that invite children into the world of Thomas and all his friends.
